Museological Nucleus of Lousado
Located in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, next to the Lousado train station, at the junction between the Minho Line and the Guimarães Line. It is established on the site of the former workshop complex of the Companhia de Caminhos-de-Ferro de Guimarães.
Its permanent exhibition consists of rolling stock belonging to eight companies that operated on narrow-gauge railways in Portugal, as well as a wide range of objects and equipment.
The workshop stands out, which has been preserved in a functional state, offering a unique experience in a real environment.
Items such as the SE yf G5 Lounge are highlighted, a luxury car used on official journeys on narrow-gauge railways and where Presidents of the Portuguese Republic, such as Óscar Carmona or Francisco Craveiro Lopes have travelled, or the self-propelled ME7, built in Portugal in 1948, at the General Workshops of Santa Apolónia.
