Museological Nucleus of Bragança
Located downtown, in the building of the old railway station, it had been closed to the public since 2002, but was reopened on April 25, 2019, in an initiative developed by the Railway Museums Network.
The reclassification of this Museum included, in addition to the renovation of the existing building, the expansion of the exhibition area, including the study of the museum exhibit design area.
The Museum contemplates the impact of this connection for the development of the region, its connection to the country and the world through a train. Locomotives, coach cars, wagons, workshop equipment and multiple objects tell the story of the construction and operation of the Linha do Tua, paying homage to the identity and memory of the community, whose experiences would be forever associated with the railway. Items such as the Locomotive CN1 stand out, one of the first to operate on the first stretch of the Linha do Tua, between this station and Mirandela.
